20th Anniversary

Back in December Kelly and I went on an amazing escape to Vegas to celebrate our 20th anniversary just a smidge early.  We stayed at the Palazzao and thoroughly enjoyed their vegan restaurant for breakfast every morning (and one fun high tea).  During our stay we went to several shows, played darts, mastered several escape rooms, spent the day at the spa...it was amazingly restorative and so fun!

I still wanted to get away for our actual anniversary.  Twenty years is a big deal!  We booked a hotel in town and had a fun date night with no curfew (Thanks, Oma for watching the kids!)  During our date we (barely) escaped from an escape room, enjoyed a leisurely dinner at a new restaurant, and enjoyed a long evening of chatting at the hotel bar.  It was the perfect way to celebrate the big day!

Axe Throwing

Today Kelly and I went axe throwing with some friends.  We had so much fun!!  I'm not super consistent but sometimes did pretty well. Lots of laughs were had by all. It was a really fun way to start the New Year!

Me and my buddy

Killian wanted to take a picture of us together and then he said "we are both so cute".  Love him!

Creativity

Keeley can play by herself for hours. She has creative worlds she creates, organizing she does, books to write....she really loves her time by herself.  When we went to check on her before we headed to bed, we discovered this playmobil and block world she'd created in her room.

I love how her mind works!

Bike riding and outside fun

Beautiful day to be outside!  Keeley learned to ride her bike without training wheels!
Killian helped Daddy in the yard.

Kayden learned to ride her bike without training wheels.

Killian was finished with work and wanted to load up his car.

Then he got in on the bike riding - his first time on that bike really riding it.

Pictures from September

This month was crazy as I got used to having all three kids in school and figuring out my carpool cycle.  I also took on the task of leading the Girl Scout troop so we were just busy.  Here is a hodge podge of our pictures.

Killian found a hockey hat while Dad got his skates sharpened.
Silly times at CiCi's
Silly faces getting ready for Friday at school (Friday is free dress day)

Keeley wore her boots and Killian wanted to wear boots too.  He only had rainboots though.

Proud to be in his rain boots at school.

So handsome with his new haircut.
More silly faces.
The girls had homework and Killian wanted to do some homework too.
The girls doing "Mission Possible" at church
Halloween costumes!  And posing, obviously.

The chair

Each day I go to pick Killian up I wait in the lobby chairs.  He is always so excited to come out to see me.  Soon after we started school he told me he wanted me to "wait in chairs" while he went to school.  I explained that I did not sit there for all 4 hours but that I would be back when he was finished with lunch.  One day I was late picking him up and he was very frustrated with me when he exclaimed, "I had to wait with Patricia.  You wait in chair for me tomorrow." The next day I made sure to be in the chairs when he came bounding down the hall with a big smile and said to me, "thank you for waiting in chair for me."  Such a sweet boy.

Because there are only a handful of kiddos that stay half day the teachers sometimes forget to bring him down (he's the only half day kid in his class) and the receptionist has to go get him from the story circle.  On the other days that he comes down, the teachers let him walk down the hall by himself to me.  Today when I arrived the receptionist was not there and Killian was running late.  I walked down the hall and peeked in his classroom. As I watched he carefully put his lunch box together and carried his dishes to the sink (they plate all their food on actual plates at school).  He glanced up and I quickly hid because I didn't want to disturb him. A few moments later he came out of the class and I was waiting right there for him.  We walked to the car together and I got him situated.  As I started to drive away I glanced back at him and he said with a furrowed brow, "Mom, you came to ours door today."  I said that I had and told him I was just checking on him.  He replied, "Moooom.  You don't come to ours door.  I do it myself.  You just wait in chair."  My littlest is getting so big :(
