After his 5 round of antibiotics in 7 months for ear infections, we went ahead and made the decision to get tubes. I hate giving the kids medicine but also didn't really want him to have tubes. I sort of thought he was going to be spared surgery! The doctor said that was too many antibiotics (and I agree). He also said that that many ear infections, being a boy, and having 2 big sisters to talk for him added up to a bad situation with speech and language development. So, tubes it was!

Surgery went well and recovery was rough. He just didn't think he needed to be still and rest. After his nap, he did much better and seemed much happier that he could finally walk without falling! He's speaking more clearly so I think they are definitely helping with his hearing.
We did tubes back in January--she had like 5 infections since October or something crazy. Best decision we made, especially because the surgery was so short! And recovery was the hardest part, but P did well after her nap, too!
