Great Wolf Lodge

Keeley decided to go on a family trip to Great Wolf Lodge instead of having a birthday party.  I can't believe she's turning 7!  We went a few weeks early to avoid the Spring Break prices and crowds.  The girls were super excited to get to miss a day of school and I was glad to go when we didn't have to work so hard to keep an eye on then with all the other little kids running around.  We checked in on Sunday and Grandma and Oma both joined us.  Oma even swam for a bit!  After we played, we changed clothes and then headed to dinner in the restaurant and then got a special treat.  On the way back to the room we got our picture taken.

This is what Killian did when I said we needed to head to dinner to meet up with the rest of the family.  Two years old is fun.
We opened presents back in our room.  Because this was a special trip, we stayed in a special room with bunk beds.  We decorated the room for Keeley.  It was super fun because always before we've stayed in just a regular room.  She opened presents from Mom and Dad - a disco ball and a camera.

Grandparents day

The school had a day especially for grandparents and the kids were lucky enough to have both grandmothers be able to attend.  It wasn't actually on a school day for Killian but we let him go up there for a bit with Oma to explore the book fair.  The kids were able to go to the book fair, they did a craft in Kayden's room, ate lunch with the granparents, and then watched a talent show.  Keeley decided a few days before the talent show that she'd like to perform and set up about practicing her piano. This took me by complete shock because she hadn't played the piano since we stopped taking lessons at the beginning of the year.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to get pictures of anything!  The kids and grandmothers had a great time though.  The day before the event, Keeley was telling me that the grandparents were going to be able to tell stories of, "olden times."  My mom had specifically asked me if that was going to happen and I had called the school, to which I was told "no" so I was confused when Keeley said this.  I asked her what exactly she meant and she said, "They'll have a chance to tell us about when they were growing up.  To share their stories."  To which I responded, "That'll be fun!  Oma definitely has a lot of stories to share."  She quickly responded,  "I know!  Like the other day when she was telling us all about George Washington and the cherry tree.."  I had to try so hard not to laugh as I explained, "That was a great story, but Oma doesn't actually know George Washington.  He was alive a long time before her."

Killian and all his snuggies in a bucket

The girls hard at work on their pot holders.

Look how adorable she is!  She's finally letting me do her hair.  Double french braids in the back.  Adorable.
Killian and I had lunch at Chick Fil A on Valentines and they passed out cookies to all the moms.  I shared.

Bad words

A few weeks after starting school, Keeley came home telling me that she'd learned the "S" word.  When I asked her what it was, she replied, "stupid."  I was quite relieved.  Last night when we were reading she said, "Mom, did you know that there is an "A" word?" I said, "Oh really?"  She leaned over and whispered, "Yes.  It's "ass."  In some places people use it as a name for donkeys but here we think of it as bad word."  I was a little shocked she had all that information but she seemed more interested in the fact that it was a name for a donkey so I relaxed a little.  She then said, "Oh!  And there's an "F" word too."  Oh dear.  I was not prepared for that.  She leaned over and whispered, "fool" and I let out a big sigh of relief :-)

Dance pictures

The girls are both taking dance this year with their movement teacher at school. Kayden is in ballet and Keeley is in ensemble.  Their pictuers turned out pretty adorable!

Daddy Daughter Dance - Masquerade Ball

Frisco has a yearly Daddy Daughter Dance and since this was our first year to be Frisco residents, I thought I'd see if the kids wanted to go.  Oh my were they excited.  New dresses and corsages.  The theme was Masquerade so Daddy got a mask for everyone.

Oma came over early to help with hair.

Then we headed upstairs to get dressed and add the sparkle to the girls hair that Oma brought over.

They wanted to show off their hair
Then brother needed to be in the picture.  He ran upstairs to change into "fancy" clothes like his sisters.  I don't consider this fancy, but I guess since he lives in pjs it is!
Then he wanted a backward picture too
Meeting their date.
Then came the flowers.

Oma bought Killian a flower which I thought was ridiculous.  Turns out it was quite important to the little guy!!

As the girls and Daddy headed out, Killian decided we needed to leave for our date too so we loaded up.

Our first stop was ice cream
Followed by the carousel

And then back home.  On the way he destroyed his flower.
I don't have pictures from the dance but they had a great time.  They did lots of dancing and Keeley made a list on the way home of her favorite things and the songs she knew.  They definitely want to go again next year.
