Parade of Cultures

The school has a Parade of Cultures event at school every year.  It was such a fun event!  All week the kids learned about different cultures and then on Friday they "traveled" the world with passports to different countries.  Parents set up tables with information and crafts for their countries.  There was a snack table and an "immigration officer" to stamp the kids' passports.  Such a cute event.

That same evening was the Parade of Cultures and the Montessori Model UN presentation.  For the parade of cultures, each student was able to pick a country they wished to represent from their heritage.  The music was played for the country as each was introduced and the students came out with a flag and then found their place to watch.  After everyone was seated, the Montessori Model UN delegates presented about their experience and then passed the flag to the delegates for next year.  We learned what country our school represented at the MMUN and what issues they researched.  It sounded like such a wonderful opportunity for the kids!
