Every night after bath, Killian escapes as quickly as he can. Usually he just runs around with his hooded towel flying like a cape. This particular night, he ran so fast his "cape" fell off and so he decided to continue his house laps naked. Of course, the first thing he wanted to do was stand on top of the garden!

Tortillas
I discovered how to make homemade tortillas a while back. Since the discovery, the girls will only eat my tortillas. That is great because the are yummy and as healthy as they can get since there are no weird or unknown ingredients. It is bad because it is sort of a lot of work. Fortunately, I have helpers every time I do it!

Fun with "new" discoveries
Keeley found her giant penguin from her second birthday and became (temporarily) obsessed with it. She tucked it in to bed with her the first night. |
As we were packing up some stuff to stick in the attic, the girls saw the banners we had for their birthdays. They wrapped themselves up after bath as "crayons" |

Busy little guy
The last week Killian has started doing two new things.
* Sommersaults! So cute. Because we took the girls to Little Gym when they were younger, I knew how they taught those and have been doing the same little song to teach Killian since he was tiny. He loves going upside down. He has just learned how to do them on his own and it is adorable to watch. He'll stand on his tip toes with his hands planted and push off until he rolls. Most of the time he rolls a little sideways but sometimes he does it perfectly. He lands with such a huge smile.
* He has some sort of internal radar that lets him know when rooms are opened if they shouldn't be. Without fail, he'll scurry off to explore the forbidden area. We'll notice he's gone and go track him down. Promptly removing him from the room and closing the door behind us. This week he has started to close the door behind himself when he goes in the room. This buys him a little more time as he quietly explores the room from behind the closed door. At first I thought it was an accident. However, one morning I caught him closing our door so he could get to the dog food and when he realized he was busted, he gave me a mischievous grin. The next morning I found him climbing on to Kayden's bed and he gave me the same smile. Adorable little stinker.

Funny things...
Each of the kids have done/said some things that have made me laugh this week:
* Keeley - On Monday morning I received a text message from the mom of one of Keeley's friends telling me her son was going to miss school because he was sick. I told Keeley at breakfast and her immediate response was a terrified look and the exclamation, "MOM! What am I going to do? He kissed me!! I don't want to get sick!" I responded with, "He kissed you?" And she said, "YES!!! On the hand and he did it AFTER the teachers had said no kissing other people!" I then asked what she did when he did that and she replied, "I said I didn't want him to kiss me and then I told the teachers." She was scandalized by the event but seemed to feel better when I reassured her that I didn't think she'd get sick from that!
* Killian - At our morning snack time, I offered Killian some yogurt. He normally loves yogurt. This particular morning, however, he pointed at his little chest with a look of all seriousness and said "choose" while very purposefully walking over to the pantry to get into the snack basket. After all, that is what his sisters do and he should obviously be able to do all the same things they do.
* Kayden - Yesterday we were all outside playing before dinner. I had to run inside to take care of something in the kitchen and asked the girls if they could watch Killian for a second. They said yes and I came inside. Moments later I heard Kayden screaming, "MOM!!!! I can't do it! It is TOO HARD! It is too hard for anyone. He won't cooperate! You have to come now."

Colored Pasta
I have dyed rice and dried pasta for playing with the kids. I have even dyed pasta in an attempt to get the kids to eat it :-) but never to play with. This morning I decided to give it a try. I dyed it all and got it set up for Killian because the girls were else where.
So fun. I will definitely do it again more intentionally. The kids all played for about 45 minutes which is forever I think AND Killian didn't climb in the tub which is a first!

Gymnastics
Now that we are wrapping up our swim lessons, I've been struggling to figure out where to get the girls involved so they stay active. Neither is interested in team sports and they were not thrilled with dance, so I suggested gymnastics. They may be the cutest gymnasts I know!
Killian noticed we were taking pictures... |
and he needed to be in the shot too. He scooted up there, looked at Keeley, looked at me, and said "cheese". |

Painting
Some painting fun with the two kids before we picked up Keeley from school. I love to do activities with Killian and the girls at the same time because they watch each other so carefully.
Not a baby
Yesterday I took all three of the kids with me to get leotards for Keeley and Kayden to start dance (not a great plan, but it was what it was). Killian entertained himself running in and out of the girls' dressing rooms as they changed clothes. A set of three year old twins watched him and kept saying, "Mommy! Look at that baby!" The mom corrected them each time saying, "That's not a baby, it is a little kid. See, he's walking." While it is true, it made me sad to realize that even other people notice he isn't a baby.
Today we went to a new park area to explore. He would wander a few feet from me and then turn around and ask for my hand so that he was brave enough to explore more. I was happy to have a break from my hip baby, but sad as I realized he is getting further and further from "baby" in all regards. It won't be long before he is running off without even a glance toward me.

Rollerskating
We were invited to help a friend celebrate a surprise birthday at a skating rink in Garland. It was a family friendly event and the girls love both the birthday girl and the daughter. Couple that with the fact that they had never been skating and you have two very excited little girls.
We had such a great time!
All done!
Kelly and I had decided to use this long weekend as a way to end Killian's nursing. He's been down to just the morning nursing and I told Kelly that I thought if Kelly were to get up with him 3 days in a row that he would not ask for the nursing again. Last Saturday, I started talking to Killian about it. I would tell him every morning that there were not be "momma milk" for much longer and that we were almost done. He would get really sad and cry every time. Then, on Thursday, he just didn't ask for it and we skipped it. We are now three days in and he seems totally over it. I was so thankful that I didn't have to force it on him and am so happy to be done!!
