Zoo!

The girls had a half day and we decided to take an impromptu trip to the zoo.  So fun!  I only got pictures of the camel ride. Three kids at the zoo by yourself is a little tricky.  Trying to add in the picture taking is almost impossible!
Killian wouldn't ride with the girls so it is just them.
Then Killian wanted to ride - "cheese" face and all!

Tea Time

"Mom!!!  Tea ready! Dad! Tea!!  Kee!  Kayen! Tea"  This is what I heard from upstairs as Kelly and I
worked downstairs and the girls were in their rooms playing.  Killian had made tea for the entire family and wanted us to come.  When we joined him, he poured  us each a glass and continued to refill until we were full.  He is so adorable.

I think my favorite part is that he wanted to make sure everyone had a saucer and cup so he had to use a skillet and the creamer cup - tea sets only come with 4 cups and there are 5 of us.  He prepared the tea on a tray and balanced it on a stroller so it could be moved in front of the sofa. So stinkin' cute!

September pictures

Killian and I have loved having some one on one playtime.  That has left him the opportunity to explore more independently.  He has wanted to climb this for such a long time.  The girls always wanted to help him and I always said they were not allowed to.  When he was old enough to climb it independently, I would feel safer with him on it.  Kelly showed me this picture of his new skill and I didn't feel one bit safer!

Mom's flip flop, Dad's shoe, and the "cheese" face.  Awesome.
He loves his trucks.
On a walk to watch the construction in the neighborhood.

Poor baby had a bee sting his eye!!!
Just in case you didn't notice, all those pictures were different days and all in the same few pajamas.  I promise we have more clothes for him.  This is just all he wants to wear!

Some of my favorite Killian sayings right now

"mmmmm!  wicious!" - This is thanks to Oma.  I love it.  Unfortunately, he only stays little for a while and has already started to say "delicious" sometimes.

"no school mom.  stay home. stay house" - This is so sweet and so sad.  Fortunately, he has also started to talk about "all my friends" at school.  His preference would still be to stay with me, but at least he is starting to make friends.

"ors tiny blankie" - I had purchased a back up tiny blankie for him since his lovie is getting so sad. He promptly threw it on the floor and then decided it was mine.  So, now when we nap together, he always wants to make sure that I have my tiny blankie too.

Park Time!

We have a great little park that has recently been built just down the street from us.  Unfortunately, since we have been in a drought for so long, the people in charge of landscaping haven't put any sod down yet.  One rainy morning Killian and I went down there while the girls were in school.  This little boy was loving the mud!

Mud and sticks!

Finally noticed his shoes were the problem while he was walking - so much mud!

There is also this big ladder.
Up he goes!
So proud of himself

Kayden

When we moved to our new school, I was most concerned about Kayden.  She was leaving her class at the year when she was supposed to become the "leader" since it was her final year of the three year cycle.  I was concerned that she would have a hard time in that role at a new school because she would be a new student.  It is hard to be a leader when you don't know any of the rules or people.  As a middle child, I thought it was critical for her to experience this role. I didn't need to worry at all.  Of three kids, she is adjusting the best.  She is smiley and happy to go to school.  All of the staff adores her.  Academically she is doing phenomenally - bringing home multiplication work and reading chapter books.  All of that is so great for me to see.  Even better than me seeing it, though, is knowing that her teachers see and appreciate it too.  When I picked her up today, her teacher said to me, "Whatever did you do to create such a jewel.  She is....complete."  Warms my heart to know that her teachers recognize how precious she is and love on her when she is away.
