Magic Kingdom Day 2

I had gone to great lengths to secure a spot at Cinderella's Royal Table for this trip because we were not able to get reservations the year before.  I also made reservations for the Bibbidi Bobbidi Boutique.  That is a boutique where the girls get to "meet their fairy godmother" and have a full make-over.  Last year Kayden was not old enough (you have to be 3) so we didn't even try to get reservations.  I called to make both reservations because I wanted them to be back to back so we could walk from the boutique straight to the castle to dine.  As the day progressed our first day in Magic Kingdom, I started thinking that the boutique experience would not go well.  The girls were on edge a bit and Kayden was very particular about needing her hair in three braids every day.  At the end of our first night in Magic Kingdom I told the girls about what was to be their surprise make over and asked if they wanted to do it.  They both said no so I quickly called to cancel that reservation.  I had no desire to spend a lot of money to be stressed about them not enjoying a make over!

That left us with some "extra" time this morning to get ready.  For some unknown reason, Kayden was awake from 4:30-6 and so were we.  Everyone then went back to sleep for about an hour.   We got up and were getting ready.  Suddenly our time was getting short because princess shoes didn't fit right and the tags were uncomfortable...
After we were all dressed and ready, we went to get on the boat to head to Magic Kingdom.  We were getting crunched on time and there was a boat for the Contemporary at the dock so we decided to board it and walk over from the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom instead of waiting for a Magic Kingdom boat.  Unfortunately, the boat did not go straight to the Contemporary.  First we had to stop at Fort Wilderness.  When we finally made it to the Contemporary and got all our strollers unfolded, Kelly and I decided we needed to speed walk/run to make it to our reservation.  As we approached the gate, I took the girls and Kelly went with Killian through the bag check line.  The girls and I ran through Main Street and the Castle to the check in desk.  I checked in at 10:23 for our 10:15 reservation.  She asked if we were all present and I said that Dad was on his way.  I was then told that our reservation was at 10:15 and we had to all be present by 10:30 or we would not be able to dine.  Fortunately, Kelly showed up about 3 minutes after we checked in (it is way easier to maneuver a single stroller in the park than a double!) and we were ushered right in.  The first thing that happens at the princess dining is a picture with the "host" princess.  Our picture with Cinderella is not exactly what I would consider wonderful.  We are hot and sweaty and windblown.  BUT, we are there and that is all that matters right?!
Our family at the table.

Princess Aurora
Ariel
Belle - not in her princess dress here which I think is weird
Killian didn't make it the entire breakfast and spent the end of it climbing the stairs to the castle. Yes, that's right, stairs.  We had to climb several flights of stairs after our run to the castle!  He did enjoy his french toast sticks for a while though!

The meal was fun.  Kelly and I both had cream cheese stuffed french toast drizzled with chocolate. Yum!  During the meal the girls were given wishing wands and stars for the "wishing ceremony".

Princess dresses were quickly discarded after the meal and we set out to meet Kendall and Angie in Tomorrowland.
First we got pictures with some characters (I'm not sure why because the girls don't know them!)
Alice asking about their flip flops.
On the "People Mover"
The girls loved the "people mover" and we rode twice.  You get to go in all the rides in Tomorrow Land.  Immediately upon meeting up with Kendall and Angie the girls told them they got to ride Space Mountain.  We did go through Space Mountain but we certainly didn't ride it!  After we rode that Kendall, Kelly and the girls did the Buzz Light Year ride while I walked back to nurse Killian.  Then they went to the Monster's Inc "show" while Angie and I rode the Buzz ride.  Unfortunately for us, the ride broke while we were on it for about 5 minutes so we were stuck, not moving, in the dark, with a baby strapped to me.  Good times.  When we met up with the rest of our crew I was informed they didn't like the Monster's Inc show and they seemed punchy so we decided to head home.

For unknown reasons it took forever to get home on the boat.  Kelly and the girls ate while I put brother down and then they played on our tablet since there was no good tv (how Disney Jr. is not playing all the time is beyond me!).  Once brother was up, the girls took a massive bubble bath.  We have some natural bubble bath that isn't so sudsy here at home.  In a hotel tub with jets those bubbles go crazy!!!
The girls played for a long time in there with some figurines I had brought with us to surprise them (Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast characters).  While they played, we did some laundry, sorted through our park back pack, and made some changes to our plan for the rest of the week based on what we had experienced so far with the kids and the transportation system.  We then headed to bed early!

  1. That bath is so fun! I think it's totally weird, too, that Belle doesn't wear her princess dress at that meal.
